Week 51 - July 21

Familia I'm so happy to here about your week and that all is going well I'm grateful for the blessings my family has been having during my mission I know that the lord has promised to take care you while i'm gone in the lords service, this week has been a slow one and i have experience some sadness during this week to some of our investigators I have never before my mission cried for someone but here i have cayed for many this work of salvation is not easy but is worth it, we cry for those who reject what they don't yet understand and smile at all that pass because we know that we have a special message that we have the true restored gospel we want to help our wards and branches so I ask what can we the missionaries do to help strengthen your wards here during our missions and when we return home? this is my question to you I love you I love the messages and news of home and conversions stories the work does not stop after the mission but continues on

Week 50 - July 14

Hey family we have had a good week we meet new people that we might be able to start teaching and then we had exchanges this last week so it's been fun my comps a bit sick but hopefully this week will be better for her sorry I don't have a lot me met a lady who said we the Mormons do exorcism  crazy lady really but fun stuff well I love you all we lost the World Cup so sad but now that it's over we should be able to visit more people now

Week 49 - July 7

what a week we had so many meetings this week not much work was done but we did all we could I also received a package form the Perkins family I loved the package and to answer the questions, We do a lot of street contacting and door knocking or clapping sometimes the don't have door bells or they don't work so we stand and clap at the door or fence just have to watch out for the dogs. Every area is different on have leaders weather we are in a branch or a ward that depends many have conducted sacrament meeting or music talks on many sundays in any or all parts of the church organizations I have even been in the nursery, the member area really great willing to help us with lessons, sometimes its hard to have their schedules match up to when we have appointments, bishops always want to help us in some way  the church is still pretty small here and like the states we have lots of Less actives and we really try to strengthen those in the ward or branches, we try to find service all the time usually we ask and everyone says no we kinda force it on them like we wash the dishes after we have eaten with the members they say no but we get up and go over, an Elder told us he would visit members look around for a service they might need then set a time to visit and come with p-day cloths, we want to serve but we get a lot of No, we really workin reactivating members as well as finding and teaching investigators. I know when we work in unity with the member we have success, member trust is the way to referrals the mission is hard but its the best thing I could have ever chosen trust the lord speak all you can and the lord will take care of the rest  and be willing to change because we change o the mission changes us if it doesnt you didn't learn anything. and that would be sad I'm grateful for everything i have learned and I know there is so much more i still don't understand yet but will you learn a lot in such a short time that is why its hard but ask anyone this is where we all love being in the service of the lord, I invite you to follow the spirit and tell the missionaries of your friends or you yourself be the friend that a less active may be needing at this moment.

Week 48 - June 30

Wow what a week we had meetings got sick and worked our butts off my com wasnt happy with our numbers but really they weren't bad for the 4 days not really working because of everything. but we feel better this week and are going to work hard again my comp Hna Sorenson is from all over she is a military kid  but she lived in chile for about 3 years so she understands the language really well, We officially have our new president he came in on saturday and we have a meeting with him on wed for the leaders and then on thursday then friday we have exchanges we are going to be busy, i'm still getting to know the ward members, all are fantastic its hard washing an area but its good as well you should have my travel information all the others I die with said there parent received it so if you haven't received it yet i suggest talking with the salt lake  I should be home by like 10:00 in the morning.Our investigators are david and maria they have as date for the 26 of july so we are really happy with that  they do need to get married as well its the story of my life really  and its so hard in mendoza fun fun but we are loving the area really great people and members awesome comp and leaders here with lots to do, well hope you have a great week love you all

Week 47 - June 21

Hola Familia yea I do realize  that it is saturday but we were given permission the write today we are having a p-day with all the sister leaders and so we are emailing today I hope all is well I'm washing an area so we don't have very much yet we are working on finding the ward or the few members i have meet are fantastic i happy to have the chance to work with them for my last transfer. well my much to say my new comp is hermana Sorensen  she is a military brat as well as me she lived in chile for a time so understands really well she speaks really good as well I have a cold that the whole mission seems to be having so its fun slept like all day yesterday and fell much better today well I love you all hope you have a good week,talk more next week

Week 46 - June 16

Ok Transfers I'm leaving Villa Mercedes and off to Maipu yes you pronounce it like My Poo we can all laugh now Im am washing the area which means that  the sisters before us both left my new comp is Hna Sorsen I don't know her so next week Ill tell you more. I went to mendoza this last week then had stake conference en san luis an hour and half bus.  All this cut time out of our area sunday we did not work at all we had a reunion with our president and we could give hugs I get extra with president Avila because I have another reunion it is also Hna Avilas birthday this wed so I made a cake and had cards and celebrated her birthday some elders had tried to work but it being father's day and argentina was playing chile in the world cup, nobody was out it was fun and our bus was late getting home we got home at 10 so we just  waited for transfer calls, we have a lesson today with an investigator and our bishop is going to come with us our bishop is really good  I'm going to miss this ward  really just like I miss every area i'm in, I love the mission the gospel is true i just wish people would listen long enough to understand it.

Week 45 - June 9

Holy cow what a week my comp has been sick and so we really didn't leave the house all week, so its been a sad week she has  the start of bronchitis or something like that. We are still looking for new investigators when we find really good ones they always live in the area of the elders almost never in our area they better baptize them im serious, so we are planning to work our butts off this week in getting references and getting the members to really help us, we think we might our transfer news a little early this sat y sun is stake conference so we are going to go to san luis and on sunday president is going to have a training right after so we are going to spend the whole day there  it seems and because its transfer night we think president will give us our news I hope so. we have algunes people to work with this week so we are excited to get out there again I know that as we do all we can the lord will bless us I love you all and pray for you all have a good week

Week 44 - June 2

Wow que una semana, its been great I was in mendoza for 2 days then on exchanges with the other sister on friday but its was great sunday was ruff but we made it  our president and his family, made a surprise visit to our ward shared his testimony and his wife as well then our investigator got up and shared his it was fantastic the spirit was so strong  we are getting colder here it goes really cold ever other day with that i think we are going to get sick again we have 4 appointment for today  so we are going to  be busy my comp is starting to feel sick so we are going to take it easy today for her. because we have lots to do tomorrow, in about 2 week we will have transfer again and I have another meeting in mendoza fun lots happening I get to teach in our zone meeting good luck to me... right i know part of being a sister leader :(

we are finding more investigators to teach the lord is really blessing us with our efforts to do all we can I hope you all have a good week . 

   

Week 43 - May 26

Wow had a fantastic week we talked with lots a people had great lessons and had 2 investigators at church on sunday, I leave today for mendoza for a meeting and return tuesday night i believe its only weird that I will travel alone with the elders my comp will stay with the other sisters while i'm gone. we worked really hard this last week and are very happy with what was accomplished the lord really blessed us we just hope that we can continue in this path with energy and excitement we are going to work hard this week as well i bit harder but we can do it  Hope you all start feeling better and have a good week love you all

Week 42 - May 19

Well its transfer time and i´ll give you that news first so Im staying in Villa Mercedes with Hna Jasso but here is the new stuff....Im a sister leader President wanted to kill me good, Just kidding  really I found out i have to go to meetings every sunday with the elders and next week i'm off to mendoza for a training my comp in now senor comp, and I get to do exchanges with the sisters in my zone, Well im going to learn a lot this transfer. we don't have very many investigators right now but we are planning to use every once of time and get some this transfer, one sister hna Chorolqui is ending her mission in about 4 weeks so her companion Hna Flores (salvador) is getting a new companion named Hna Flores (Bolivia)  It will be easy for the members to remember there names we are very cold right now in the mornings and at night  middle of the day is not to bad. like ben our last week was not so good but we are going to do better this week I might end my mission here this is our short transfer and we get out new president, President Goats, lots of changes right now. Hope you all have a great day and a fantastic week love you

Week 41 - May 12

Holy cow i know i talked you you yesterday but there so much  i missed like all the birthdays  i cant keep track of, thank you everyone for being there i'm sorry i was late we thought we were 4 hrs ahead not 3.  We have a family we are planning a FHE with tonight they were sick and so did not come to church so  it might get canceled today, they are great. We had a lesson right after church  with a member it was great we watched the restoration our investigator can't read he understands but we don't know if he need baptism because he is challenged mentally he doesn't seem like it to me but he is and his mom who he lives with is getting alzheimer's and says she understands but in the end doesnt its sad, the other day my comp and i were walking having a hard time getting anyone to listen to us as we walked we saw a dead cat then a dead dog and then a dead rat which you could only tell it was a rat by its tail  after this we had a boom of a lesson the spirit was so strong it was fantastic. I off to mendoza again i think its for my comps visa stuff yea its still about 5 1/2 hrs we are leaving tomorrow which is weird but that mean we loose like 2 day to work this week  but tis good we are having transfers next sunday so next monday  you will all know where i'm going and who my new comp is.  well hope you all have a great week happy birthday to all those birthdays in may love you tons

Week 40- May 5th

Happy birthday You all I´m horrible in remembering everyone's birthday so forgive me i love you all a ton and really enjoy the photos. We have had a slower week because we all are getting sick with colds and such so i hope i'm about done so i can get back to work. I should be skyping next sunday at 3:00 your time ruffly 7:00 my time I hope to see you or whoever can make it personally you were all at your in laws last year..... but whatever if i don't get to see you sunday i will in a few more months. We have a really awesome family we are working with the have come to church 3 times well the boyfriend he really wanted to share his testimony on sunday with his girlfriend and kids but they were sleeping apparently there was a big boxing match sat night so they didn't go to sleep until 3ish but he still came wich is great,we have a zone conference this wed which is weird because we had interviews with president this transfer as well, i guess he is going to miss us so hes doing it one last time  next transfer is only 4 weeks so we wont have time. Week 39 - April 28

Holy cow   its almost mothers day id like my family to be all there my obispo said we can use do it at his house, so ill be skyping. what time do you get out of church? ill need to know and next week ill verify what time  ill be calling.

So this week we have done a lot of work we are exhausted but really happy with what the lord has given us. Our newest family has come to church twice and we have a cita with them on wed so we are happy. This is a great transfer lots of miracles, its much colder entering winter right now its like england cloudy and cold and a bit foggy i know this is my last transfer in villa Mercedes ill be sad but i still have time here and the lord is going to keep helping us and giving us people to teach i love you and hope you have a great week

Week 38 - April 21

Well we had a great week this week we had a ward activity, and some of the members brought friends and all of them that came to the activity came to church. It was great we also have lessons set up with them so we have work to do, I'm loving it i had interview with the president last week, he said i will be moved at least one more time because i dont have much more time left on the mission. And he also told me to start thinking about what i want to do after the mission and start a plan; thats hard to do really so if anyone has a idea or help me look for a job i will be more than happy but at the same time ai am trying not to get trunky ive seen people trunky, and i dont want it. i love you hope you have a great week

Week 37 - April 14

 Ok everyone I should be home the 13th of August and i have no idea what to do after the mission. well i definitely need a job, but school i don't know what i want to study. its hard to think of that when focusing on the mission i was hoping i would get some inspiration but nothing give me ideas of what to study and i can start to think a bit more on what to study. My comp is hna Jasso she was born in mexico but raised in idaho shes really funny but is serious when we plan and teach we want to enjoy the mission to its fullest. Congrats to all who are having babies this year i feel behind but thats mission life i only have 2 transfers left which is weird the next transfer is only 4 week and then my last will be 8 weeks long i will probably be leaving this area after this transfer my last transfer i will have a new mission president from the states so that will be interesting  its getting colder  here. O and i forgot last week i received a letter from the mission, that asked us to tell our families to not send any more packages because its about a 99% we will not get them, i still wait for my christmas package but i probly wont get it. its fine hope everyone had a  great easter love you all have a great week

Week 36 - April 7

traslados I'm staying here in villa mercades my new cop is a mexican from idaho i meet her in our sister conference General conference was fantastic at times we didn't have reception because we are having a lot of rain storms  with sonic boom thunder and lightning but i'm loving it, its a new week to find and teach i hope you all take  what the prophet and apostles said and help this work move forward we can do little with out these members

week 35- March 31

this transfer is almost over wow cant believe it im also excited general conference next week well i leave for mendoza again this week we are having a special meeting with all the sisters in the misión so all the sisters are going to mendoza i'm really excited to see how many sisters we actually have but this does cut 2 days out of our week to work we have to be ion mendoza by 4:00  tue and we will  be spending the night there as well im excited but im not looking forward to the long bus ride they like to play movies that are not the best and even if you don't look you can hear it. we have a new family this week our first lesson was with our bishop he really is great he want to help us, have strong members, and only want us to teach so this ward is smaller but really they are fantastic all talk to the investigators or anyone thats new we need to be more like this greet others help them feel loved and wanted, if theres one thing I would like to invite members to do that would be to get to know the people that come in, love them.

Week 34 - March 24

wow i cant believe how fast the time goes this last week in the city central we have had brazilians dancing all night, for some carnival there are a lot here in ville mercades dont know why but the brazilians love it here. i had a bit of a cold this last week but im better now had a few days where i slept after studies so im better and ready to work today me and my companion leave for mendoza for her visa stuff our bus ride to mendoza is 5-6 hrs so its great we are going to sleep in the mission office and return tuesday, its definitely fall cool in the mornings and dusk but night is freezing our ward is great my bishop helps me with my panish he know english and is practically fluent and loves chocolate from the states and likes to feed the gringos weird food Ive yet to eat really weird food but the elders are going to get wessel the next time they eat with the bishop he also told us that the only thing he want us to worried about is teaching and the ward  is  going to take care of the rest. i love it here the people and all the food but i will admit after the mission i don't want to eat pasta id rather rice and beans,well actually i would like korean BBQ (hint hint).

Week 33- March 17

another week gone how fast is this transfer we are half way through holy cow we are focusing on finding my area is really great love it we get lots of rain here almost everyday we get clouds and some rain if not a lot but we also have a lot of dirt roads and the rain makes it hard to walk and find people there are also a ton of little kids here  but i love is a lot my comp is latina and really want to learn english she is being very hard on herself she only has 3 months and expects to speak english perfectly i guess i was the same ok when i was at 8 or 9 months and still couldn't say much yes i was harder on myself but i'm learning so much here the ward is fantastic the bishop is really friendly and loves the missionaries.

this week we had success in way that have helped me grow and understand the lord more and the love he has for us.

Week 32- March 10

Ok the computer here works 10 times better this week My companion is Hna Vasquez she is from lima Prue and really wants to learn english and i really want to learn spanish so its great we practice a lot she only has 3 months in the mission but is fantastic my investagator in mendoza had her baptism ill send pictures my comp sent me the fotos any way im in the farmland again its so different from the city in the city everything was fast and here its slow laid back it kinda drives me crazy we had zone confrence on friday and we have new rules we leave the apt at 9:30 and during the siesta finish our studies and our weekly planning is the same  i think its better like this but it is different the mission has a goal to read the BOM in 66 days im trying in spanish and i bit behind because we are to read it at every opotune moment we have personally i dont have many kinda running around with our heads cut off but i want to make this goal my area is beautiful except the mosquetos well hope you have a good week keep the fe and stay strong.

Week 31 - March 3

Ok another transfer I am in the campo again and  there are a lot more bugs apparently we have taranchula in our area i havent seen them yet but i hope i dont have to I have a weird map ill take a picture and send because i cant explain it the ward is great I dont know them to well yet but my new area is fantastic and we will work hard to bring the gospel into the lives of those who are already. I received my trunky paper and i need to know if our stake president has changed or not i need his e-mail and i think we are still the 1st ward in west point, i also believe that you are not picking me up here in Argentina correct? well g2g sorry its not much  everything here closes and i mean everything  in the city the cybers were open during the siesta but here even the cybers close love you tons hope you have a good week.

Week 30- February 24

Another Transfer  gone how time flies.  Im leaving and going to Villa Mercedes its about a 5 hr bus ride from the city Mendoza. Well our JW Diego, left his church and has a date for baptism the 8 of march and our other investigator Vanessa also is getting baptized this Saturday.  i wont be here, sad, but its ok she wants her family to join the church as well so its great!  they are both Milagros. im happy that the lord prepared them and that we were able to find them. Diego invited us to go to his last meeting in the jw church  We didnt go but had members about his age go. We felt we would have been walking through fire,and we dont want to offend anyone. We had interviews this week as well our appt was at 2:30 we had our interview at 6:00ish crazy days this week but great days we are having rain again we have entered the rainy season its been a bit crazy usually its march that they start getting rain  but its fine its cooler and nice. well I love you all hope you have a great week and next week Ill tell you about my comp I think she is a latino finnaly =0)

Week 29 - February 17

what a week full for the lords hand in all that we do. we have 2 investigators that have a date for baptism  im so happy, both are golden 1 is a JW and he said he knows the Mormon church is true. the other is a girl we met in the street she is so in tune with the spirit it amazes me we  came to church this Sunday and wants to go to institute and to a broad cast this Thur also is interested in family history,  on top if it all she is excited for her baptism. im grateful for this opportunity to serve the lord I only have 6 months left and im going to make the most of what little time i have here i love the people and this language yes its hard for me to speak but the blessing is that the spirit speaks for us through us and those that are ready  its like in the gospels those who have ear to hear will understand we had rain the last 3 days so its cooled off a lot but its back to the heat again the blessing of the lord great o small is fantastic

Week 28- February 10

Wow I cant believe it.  Thursday is my year mark in the misión!  We have been working really hard and have been having many more new investigators its amazing the éxito we have when the members and missionary's work side by side and bring the gospel to their neighbors and friends I no the hard part is to share the gospel and to bring it in  a causal conversation but the lode helps and blesses us when we try. its amazing when we step back and realize the lord hand in our lives ever person we meet, every trial we have is there for a reason. Im grateful for this opportunity to share what i know and to bring hope and happiness into the lives of many and all will accept all we can do is invite and then its up to them to accept and act to show our faith and willingness to do the lord will

Week 27 - February 2

Wow another week gone we have met  many people from all over hardly any in our area but i know as we continue in opening our mouths to talk to people we will have éxito, this week we had 2 sports team come in to play each other BOCCA and RIVER so many crazy people yelling and wearing there team jerseys and i saw a guy with a tattoo on his balding head it was a picture of a guy mowing a lawn or the guys hair pretty funny today we are having a district p-day, we are going to an aquarium.  Man I cant spell - the place that has lots a fish. Then we will have lunch at the church a sister form Peru is making chofler its like ham fried rice its really good and i a a postre(dessert) its good the elders poor thing don't know how to cook anything id think they would try.  I tried to explain how to bring water to a boil. mom i'm grateful you taught us.well hope you have a good week    

Week 26- January 27

How time flies by.  I am one of the oldest sisters in the mission the only other sister that are older than me will go home the transfer before me, we have a new investigator this week his name is Charles  and we have an appt with him today, had lots of little milagros this week. I saw a huge cauldron and i thought of dad it even had its own stand to be over a fire unfortunately its huge and i'm sure it wont make it through the airport and plane but it was cool had a good week hope you all are ok and well or getting better vanina is trying to find the place for the civil paperwork so she can get married in April im excited for her

Week 25 - January 20

Wow what a week its so hot we did get a little bit of rain but thats made it humido. We had a great baptism, casi todo were non members and one of our new investigators came to the baptism as well it was amazing. I love all your emails and the funny stories  wish i had some for you to we are working hard to bring the love of christ to this city the people really are great I cant believe that in feb I hit my year mark holy cow and so much has happened and changed and i've learned so much as well that i didnt ever imagine I could have learned, this work is amazing grateful for all all of these experiences.

Week 24 - January 13

Another week all seem to blend into one huge day or huge week, but this week we have been working hard to find new people and Loe is finally getting baptized.  He is a 8 yr and his parents are less actives so yes its a ward baptism but that ok hopefully we can have our investigators come to his baptism. many members are going on vacation this week so its a little hard to get lessons with members but we still work as hard as we can its a new transfer and everyone in my district is staying the same so its my 3rd transfer in Mendoza but i love it here and the ward to  many good people hope you all have a good week love you tons

Week 23 - January 6

 Another week, thank you all for the emails i love them. So we had an emergency transfer so Hna tanner is gone to a little town in the mountains its about 2 hr away from chile but its very pretty up there. my new companion is Hna Norr from washington she only speaks to me in spanish so im going to get this language down hopefully before mother's day we had a guy visit on sunday hes been invited before and has walked past it many times but yesterday he decided to go and we have an appointment with him today so we are excited also this last week we met  2 american members a brother williams and brother williams a father and son both are doctors, ran into them on saturday evening the offered to get us dinner but we were fasting already and then 5 min later some young guy ran after us and started talking to us my first thought was O no a weirdo but he was a missionary that served in this mission 6 month before and was visiting with his parents they also offered  to get us dinner it was a great week of visiting members and we were able to help them find the church buildings. its been a good week vanina has in a different city on sunday but next sunday she will come she already knows who she wants top baptize her

week 22 - December 30

happy new years

 we have had a great week getting to skype home sadly i couldn't see or talk to everyone but there is mothers day in 5 months, it will be great hopefully i be in an area where we will be able to skype again i loved the pictures of my newest nephew.  Any way we have a new investigator we are so excited he loves history in the bible so hes going to love the LDM. well hope you all have a great new years id like my brothers to email this week if thats ok love you so much ill be home before we know it and its sad that its going so fast, its amazing what you learn as a missionary

Week 21 - December 23

Wow Fieliz Navidad everyone. This week went so fast we had our christmas party and corro practice all week for 2-3 hr we sang in a plaza friday and didnt get home until 11:00 then had to be up extra early to go do service at a members by 6:30pm  and we sang again sunday night.  Thank goodness its pday today we didnt get much work done in our areas because of the seista and corro practice. im so excited that Bridger was born i hope i get to see him on wed or get pictures im calling wed at 12:00 utah time hope to see you all there love you all
